Indian Eggplant

The eggplant is a delicate, tropical perennial often cultivated as a tender or half-hardy annual in temperate climates. 
 

The name "brinjal" used in Indian, South African, Malaysian, Singaporean, and West Indian English stems from thePortuguese beringela.The Indic name baingan or baigan is also sometimes used in South Asian English and in Trinidad. In Eastern Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania), the plant is called "biringanya" in Swahili, also a stem from "brinjal"
 

Nutritionally, raw eggplant is low in fat, protein, dietary fiber and carbohydrates. It also provides low amounts of essential nutrients, with only manganese having a moderate percentage (11%) of the Daily Value.

 

Packaging and presentation 

It is typically packaged in boxes of 22 Lb (10 Kg), 30 Lb (13 Kg) and  35 Lb (16 Kg).
